Move carefully. Keep the records you need.

Decide what is actually leaving

A mobile number, a handset payment and a household broadband connection may be three separate arrangements. List the services to retain and those to end. Ask the current provider how moving one affects the others.

Keep or replace the number

A PAC relates to keeping a number during a switch; a STAC relates to switching without keeping it. Obtain and submit the correct code through the official routes. Do not give it to an unrelated guidance caller.

Understand the remaining obligations

Request an explanation of any early termination amount, device balance or equipment return. A final payment may not resemble a normal monthly bill. Keep written information and receipts until the account is settled.

Protect continuity

Check recovery methods for important accounts before the switch. Plan around critical calls and authentication messages. Temporary disruption is possible; do not schedule a transfer at a moment when being unreachable would create a serious problem.

After the move

Check incoming and outgoing calls, messages and mobile data. Review the outgoing provider’s final bill and confirm which agreements remain. If only one service fails, explain the partial problem to the receiving provider.
